Our story

Your trusted independent school community and marketplace

Who are we?

School Notices was launched in 2014 by two parents as an online community that connects independent schools, parents, alumni, and businesses in a way that benefits everyone.

Taking the principle of the old-fashioned school noticeboard, we created a state-of-the-art website where parents and alumni can connect with other like-minded members across a network of schools in the UK.

Free-to-post Noticeboard

Our website is free to join and parents, staff and alumni can use School Notices to buy, sell and advertise to one another within a trusted environment. Buy school uniforms, musical instruments, puppies and furniture, rent holiday villas, find jobs and more. Plus it’s free-to-post and we don’t take any commission!

Schools guide for parents

Get a brand new perspective on private schools from the people who know them best! Written by current parents, our Inside Scoop school reviews, helps parents to make informed decisions on prospective schools.

Fundraising for our member schools

We donate 25% of advertising revenue to support our member schools’ bursary funds where applicable.

It all adds up and we’re extremely proud to be raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for our member schools!

Kings of content!

We publish a termly magazine, Noticed, and annual school review, the Inside Scoop, in addition to our online blog – all with exceptional and exclusive features on all things education as well as the other topics needed to survive as parents - including health, lifestyle, shopping and fashion!

A word from our founders

We set up School Notices with a very simple desire to help other like-minded parents connect with each other, whilst helping our schools along the way with some much-needed fundraising. We won’t lie – it’s been hard work, but we’re so excited that SN has now become such a wonderful and established community that is growing by the day! We look forward to welcoming you too!
